Next to Masterchef Justin Niessen are two strong, tough women who, together with Justin Mondi, have put Caribbean Cuisine Restaurant & Terrace on the map.

Mariska Nunes is Managing Director at Corendon Hotels & Resorts and previously launched initiatives such as the Corendon Academy and the single parent travel concept Maris Life. She is also a board member of the Smart Zwart Collective, a dynamic and influential network consisting of professionals of colour, who are connected through inspiration and stimulation, and the Corendon Foundation, in which she and Gunay Uslu are committed to making hotel destinations more sustainable from Corendon Hotels & Resorts. “As a Corendon employee from the very beginning, I know better than anyone that we earn our money by the grace of beautiful hotels & resorts where many guests stay every year. We see it as our duty to support social or cultural initiatives in our own immediate environment, as well as to collaborate on a larger, international scale. That is not only important for society, but also relevant for the continuity of our own company.” Together with Gunay Uslu, she conceived and developed the total concept for Mondi.

Gunay Uslu develops concepts and builds hotels and restaurants in Amsterdam, Ibiza and Curaçao. ”Discovering new worlds, encounters with other cultures, tasting new flavours and smelling different scents is food for our minds and the basis for happiness, joy and connection.” Besides being an entrepreneur, Gunay is a member of the Council of Supervision of the Eye film museum and advisor to the Rembrandt Association. She is also a researcher at the University of Amsterdam (Cultural History). Art, culture, and history are given a prominent place in all her projects. “I want to convey a message, anchor something in the minds of the guests. Artists, designers, and architects are already involved in the development phase, and museums, galleries and culinary experts are made part of the creative process. A hotel or a restaurant only really has a soul when the environment and creative are involved.”
