The College Hotel Amsterdam is a unique concept where, in addition to taking care of your unforgettable stay, it is all about the hands-on training of Young Professionals in the hospitality sector. Guests, employees and the management give high potential students from local hotel schools a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the operation and in the administrative departments of a qualified boutique hotel.

What can you expect as a guest?

As a guest of The College Hotel you can count on hard working, good natured, disciplined and enthusiastic young professionals who have been critically selected by our management and are presented as the representatives of their school. You will experience a dynamic energy during your hotel stay and we guarantee that this will give your stay an extra dimension.

High potentials

Not every student can do an internship at The College Hotel. Prior to this, an extensive and critical selection procedure will take place from the management and hotel schools. All students work at the hotel for 10 to 20 weeks. This period enables students to actually make a development. Students come from different programs and are deployed in the various departments and behind the scenes of the hotel. Students from different school years work at the hotel. The senior students have a coaching role, because of this they can gain real managerial experience and get the most out of their internship period..

Guidance and coaching

The ratio of employees and students is about 60% / 40%. The students are supervised and coached at all departments. Our employees do this with passion and are trained to fulfill this important role. All Young Professionals go through a step-by-step process with daily feedback moments. The coaches set targets each week. This could be creating the perfect Latte Macchiato, giving a suitable wine advice or making a sales calculation.
