Is the hotel centrally located?
The College Hotel Amsterdam is located in the Fashion District of Amsterdam in the southern part of the city centre. Museumplein, where the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the Royal Concertgebouw are located, is only a five minute walk away. The Albert Cuyp Market and the popular neighbourhood De Pijp are also within walking distance. Other locations in the city centre can easily be reached with tram 5, 12 and 3, which stop directly in front of the hotel.
How far is the hotel from Dam Square?
Dam Square is 35-40 minutes’ walk away. You can also travel by public transport or by bicycle, of course.
Can we buy museum tickets at the hotel?
You can purchase tickets from us for the most prominent museums in Amsterdam which avoids having to wait in a queue. The Anne Frank House is an exception, however, and tickets can only be ordered online directly or at the House itself.
Do you have a map?
The canal network means that Amsterdam is a complex city. A map is provided free of charge on checking-in which clearly shows the major attractions and museums of the city. It also shows the public transport network.
Can you recommend a restaurant to me and make a reservation?
Amsterdam has a vast array of restaurants. We will be happy to help you make a choice and arrange a reservation for you.
What’s the best way of getting to the hotel from Schiphol Airport?
There are various ways of getting to the hotel from Schiphol including travel by taxi or public transport. A taxi costs approx. €40. If you would like us to arrange a transfer from the airport for you, please fill out the contact form. You can also call us directly. You can, of course, just also flag down a taxi yourself. If you prefer to travel by public transport, you can take a train from Schiphol to Amsterdam-Zuid Station and take tram 5. You then get off at “Roelof Hartplein”. Travelling from the hotel to Schiphol or vice versa takes approx. 20 minutes, depending on the time of day.
What’s the best way of getting to the hotel from Amsterdam Central Station?
Take tram 5 in the direction of “Amstelveen Binnenhof” from the west side. Get off at “Roelof Hartplein”. The hotel is situated across the street. Travel from Amsterdam Central Station takes approx. 20 minutes.
What is the best way of getting to the hotel by car?
On the A10 ring road, take the s108 exit and follow the signs “Olympisch Stadion”. Follow the Stadionweg street to the right until you reach the intersection with Beethovenstraat. Turn right and after 400 metres (437 yards) the hotel is right in front of you at the traffic lights.
Where can I park?
The College Hotel Amsterdam has a private parking. Guests can park the car the whole day (24 hours) for €50,-. Besides our private parking guest can also park in the Museum Quarter car park at Nicolaas Maesstraat 2 D.
Can I buy tickets for public transport from you?
You can choose a 24 or 48 hour ticket for public transport which is valid for all metros, trams and busses in the city. A 24 hour ticket costs €7.50 per person. A 48 hour ticket costs €12 per person. Should you wish to travel by public transport outside of Amsterdam, you will need a special OV chipkaart ticket.
Can we rent a bicycle from the hotel?
Cycling is an excellent way of exploring the city. Cycling gets you quickly from A to B. You can rent a bicycle for €16 per day. For reservations, please contact the reception.
I have booked a room without breakfast. Can I add it to my reservation?
This is no problem at all. We can add breakfast to your reservation for €22.- per person, per day. You will then be able to enjoy our extensive breakfast buffet. Weather permitting, you can even have breakfast in the sun in our courtyard.
Do you have any rooms with twin or double beds?
We offer both types of room. Please let us know what your requirements are by means of the contact form, and we will call you to discuss the options. You can also telephone us directly.
We would like to stay with our family in your hotel. Do you have family rooms available or should we reserve two separate rooms?
Our Junior Suite and Deluxe Room has room for three guests. We will then place an bed in the room. If your children are over the age of 12, we charge €65 per person, per night ( breakfast excluded ). You can also book two separate rooms, next to each other or with a connecting door. If you would like to stay in one of our rooms as a family, please let us know.
How much does an extra bed in a room cost?
An extra bed costs €65 per night for guests aged 12 and over. There is no extra charge for children under the age of 12.
Is there a hairdryer in the room?
There is a hairdryer in the bathroom of every room.
Do you offer 24 hour room service?
If you want to continue working in your room after an intensive day of meetings or enjoy an elaborate breakfast in bed, room service is available daily from 07:00 – 22:00. There is a room service menu in every hotel room.
Are pets allowed in the hotel?
No, unfortunately pets are not allowed in the hotel. Guide dogs are the exception to this rule.
Are anti-allergy beds and duvets available?
We can make up your bed with anti-allergy duvets on request.
Do you have foreign TV channels?
The flat screen televisions in our rooms offer a selection of foreign television channels. The standard channels available are CNN, BBC 1 &2, ADR, ZDF and EEN.
Do you have an ironing board and iron available?
An ironing board and iron are available on request! We also offer a laundry and dry-cleaning service. Should you wish to make use of this service, please complete the forms in your room.
What are the checking-in and checking-out times?
You can always check-in from 3 pm. You can even check in earlier if your room is already available. Checking-out is until 12 pm.
Can we leave our luggage with you?
You can leave your luggage with us before check-in and on checking out. This allows you to enjoy Amsterdam to the fullest! Our reception team will be happy to assist you and will ensure that, if your luggage is already in the hotel, it will be waiting for you in your room upon your return.
Can you help me with checking-in online for my flight and printing my boarding pass?
You don’t have a hotel guest computer. We can assist you in printing-out your boarding passes, this will save you queuing time at the airport, allowing you to enjoy Amsterdam that bit longer!
Can you send my letters and postcards?
No problem! The international postal rate for up to 20 grams is € 1.15 per postal item.
Where can I leave my valuable possessions like my laptop and tablet?
There is a safe in your hotel room for your valuable possessions.
Do you have a meeting room available?
We have five authentic salons for meetings in a splendid atmosphere. Our Rembrandt Ballroom is available for larger events. See our venue overview for an impression and our meeting packages.
Can I get married in The College Hotel?
Yes, The College Hotel has been recognised by the municipality of Amsterdam as an official wedding location. You can have your wedding ceremony in the intimate hall P.C. Hooftzaal with about 65 guests for example. The Grand Ballroom offers space for up to 200 guests. We also offer ample possibilities for dinners, parties and receptions. See all possibilities.
Where can my guests best park during an event at The College Hotel?
Amsterdam is an expensive city for parking. We recommend parking in the P&R (park & ride) garage of the Olympic Stadium if you are coming for a day. You can park your car there for €8 per day (only during the week after 10 a.m.). During the week before 10 a.m. and in the weekends you pay €1 per 24 hours. You can start your travel to the city center by public transport. Take tram 24 and get off at the Roelof Hartstraat stop, just across the street from The College Hotel
When is breakfast?
We serve an extensive breakfast buffet from Monday until Friday from 07:00 – 10:30. On Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy our breakfast buffet from 07:30 – 11:00.
I wish to reserve a table on the terrace, is that possible?
We can only accept a limited number of reservations for our terrace. We can make a note of your preference for a place on the terrace and try to seat you, subject to availability. Make your reservation here.
Can I have lunch at The College Hotel?
